New Bat Policies

A Note from Jeff Fruhwirth to parents and players for 2012 baseball season...

For our older school age players 7th grade and up they will be required to use the new BBCOR bat standard for school ball spring 2012. The NCAA adopted this standard for the 2011 season. I anticipate most of the other sanctioned leagues to adopt this standard. The bat manufacturers will only be producing these types of bats (BBCOR) in the near future. Please wait to purchase a bat until the Midwest Ohio Baseball league makes a decision. Bats have become a substantial equipment purchase for baseball and I do not see these prices going down.

Beavercreek Baseball Travel Program

The Beavercreek Sox is a select youth sports program designed to promote competitive youth baseball participation. The age of participants in the program this year ranges from 8 to 18. The organization was founded in 1993 in response to the identified need for a Beavercreek community hosted competitive baseball program to be made available for the spring and summer season. Ultimately, this program would serve to enhance and promote baseball within the community and assist in the development of players for the local junior and senior high school teams within the Beavercreek Local School District.
